Economic security of business in Ukraine under global challenges and threats

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to develop the theoretical foundations of business economic security in Ukraine under conditions of global challenges and threats, as well as to substantiate the architecture of business resilience as a basis for strengthening economic security in conditions of uncertainty. The study employs methods of logical generalization, analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, as well as PESTEL analysis to structure external environmental threats. A systems approach is applied to substantiate the architecture of business resilience. The results of the systematization of threats to business economic security indicate the dominance of military-political, macroeconomic, and energy threats, which form the basis of destabilizing influence and have a cascading nature of propagation. The necessity of integrating cyber threats into the overall system of risks as a factor with a cross-cutting impact on enterprise activities is substantiated. The architecture of business resilience is proposed as a multi-contour adaptive system that includes analytical-prognostic and strategic blocks and integrates resource, process, managerial, and institutional components of strengthening economic security. The expediency of considering business resilience as a dynamic process is substantiated, which is implemented through a sequence of phases (preventive, absorptive, adaptive, and transformational), allowing a transition from a static interpretation of economic security to its understanding as the ability of an enterprise to continuously transform and develop under conditions of uncertainty. The practical significance of the proposed integrated approach to strengthening business economic security, which combines the systematization of threats and the formation of a resilience architecture, is demonstrated in its potential to enhance adaptability, resilience, and competitiveness of enterprises. Prospects for further research are related to the development of tools for assessing threats, particularly the determination of their probability of occurrence and impact level, in order to substantiate strategic priorities for strengthening business economic security.
