Features of banking planning in the current environment

Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the need to adapt the planning of bank activities to the conditions of increased uncertainty, digitalization and increased regulatory requirements. The purpose of the article was to substantiate modern approaches to planning the activities of banking institutions and identify areas for increasing the efficiency of planning processes in an unstable environment. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and special methods of cognition, in particular methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization, a systems approach, comparison and logical modelling, which allowed for a comprehensive study of the features of planning bank activities. Results. The study found that the modern planning system in banks is complex, hierarchical in nature and covers strategic, tactical and operational levels of management. It is substantiated that in conditions of instability, the key characteristics of planning are flexibility and adaptability. It was found that the integration of a risk-oriented approach is a defining trend in the development of planning processes, which involves taking risks into account at all stages of planning. It is proven that the use of tools such as stress testing, the internal capital adequacy and liquidity assessment process, as well as recovery plans, contributes to increasing the financial stability of banks. It is established that digitalization and regulatory requirements significantly transform approaches to planning, increasing its analytical and accuracy. Conclusions. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of their use by banking institutions to improve the business planning system, increase the effectiveness of risk management, ensure financial stability and adapt to modern challenges in the development of the banking sector.
