Innovation-Investment Approach to Strategic Management of Maritime Transport Infrastructure

Abstract

Abstract: The article examines the innovation-investment approach in the strategic management of maritime transport infrastructure. The theoretical and methodological foundations of this approach in strategic management are revealed. The main problems, barriers, and directions for implementing the innovation-investment approach to the strategic management of maritime transport infrastructure are identified and characterized. Examples of the practical application of the studied approach are presented. Based on the conducted research, the paper proposes the creation of a system of port logistics complexes and provides a conceptual scheme of such a complex to ensure the efficient use of port infrastructure. The research results have practical value for managers, analysts, investors, and logistics specialists. The purpose of the article is to investigate the specific features of the innovation-investment approach in the strategic management of maritime transport infrastructure. Research methods. To solve the outlined tasks, a set of general and specific scientific methods was used, based on the principles of descriptive, analytical, and comparative analysis, as well as modeling, generalization, grouping, and optimization. The information base of the research includes scientific works by Ukrainian and foreign scholars, data from the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, international rankings, and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority. Research results. Continuous work on improving the strategic management of maritime transport infrastructure should lead to the creation of a high-quality strategic plan, which becomes the foundation for successful implementation of infrastructure projects. Systems of port logistics complexes will ensure broad integration of logistic flows to balance the load on elements of port infrastructure. Conclusions. The effectiveness of strategic management of maritime transport infrastructure depends on the type of approach applied in forming the strategic management system. The overall strategic objective of implementing port logistics complex systems is to increase Ukraine’s port infrastructure index to the average European level.
