Abstract

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of logistics stocks as a strategic resource of an enterprise in an unstable market. Particular attention is paid to practical approaches to increasing the efficiency of logistics systems and ensuring the competitiveness of enterprises by improving inventory management. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of logistics stocks as a strategic resource of an enterprise in an unstable market and to substantiate effective methods of management and minimizing losses to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the business. Methods. The study used methods of analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, modeling, as well as elements of scenario forecasting and modern digital inventory management technologies. Results. The importance of logistics stocks in modern conditions of market instability is characterized. The impact of supply and demand fluctuations on the efficiency of inventory management is determined. The role of stocks as a strategic resource for ensuring the continuity of business processes is studied, in particular the impact on competitiveness and the role in financial and operational planning. Factors and risks affecting the efficiency of inventory management in unstable market conditions are analyzed. Existing inventory management methods are assessed, including classical (EOQ, ABC analysis, XYZ analysis) and modern technologies (JIT, VMI, ERP analytics). Emphasis is placed on methods for minimizing losses of logistics stocks, including control of storage periods, optimization of warehousing and dynamic replenishment of stocks. Optimal inventory management strategies for enterprises in unstable conditions are proposed. Suggestions are made for the implementation of modern methods for minimizing losses. Conclusions. The findings suggest that managing logistics inventories is crucial for businesses operating in unpredictable markets. Еffectively combining traditional methods like EOQ, ABC, and XYZ with modern digital technologies, companies can minimize losses, lower the risks of having too much or too little inventory, and ultimately enhance their sustainability and competitiveness.
