Abstract

In today's environment of dynamic economic development, globalisation of business processes and increased competition, management decisions play a key role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of enterprises. It is the quality and timeliness of decisions that determine an enterprise's competitiveness, its ability to adapt to market changes and achieve strategic goals. The purpose of this article is to reveal the role of management decisions in the enterprise management system, identify the factors that influence their quality, analyse methods and approaches to decision-making, and outline ways to improve their effectiveness in the context of digital business transformation. The article proves that management decisions are a key element of the management cycle, which includes planning, organisation, motivation and control. At each of these stages, decisions ensure the integrity and logical completeness of the management process. The absence of a quality decision at any stage reduces the effectiveness of the entire management system. The classification of management decisions by level of management (strategic, tactical, operational), scope of action, method of adoption and degree of certainty is considered. The paper argues that the effectiveness of decisions is determined by both internal factors (organizational structure, manager competence, corporate culture, financial condition) and external factors (market conditions, competition, government regulation, political stability, technological progress). Particular attention is paid to methods and tools for making management decisions. The comprehensive application of these methods allows for a significant increase in the soundness of management decisions and a reduction in subjectivity and the risk of errors. The article examines in detail the areas for improvement in the decision-making process. The comprehensive application of modern analysis methods, the use of digital tools, and the development of managerial competence can significantly improve the effectiveness of management decisions. The results of the study can be used by business leaders, consultants, and analysts to improve management efficiency and refine planning, organisation, motivation, and control processes. The proposed areas for improvement can form the basis for developing enterprise development strategies in today's competitive environment.
