Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive theoretical and methodological foundation for designing an information and logistics system (ILS) tailored to business entities within a context of rapid digital transformation. It outlines ILS as a strategic, interdisciplinary construct that integrates logistics operations, marketing tools, data-driven decision-making technologies, and modern information infrastructure into a single adaptive, intelligent, and resilient framework. The study emphasizes the need for synchronization between logistics processes and marketing objectives to reduce functional duplication, eliminate process inefficiencies, optimize communication flows, and enhance market responsiveness. A diffusion-based approach, rooted in Everett Rogers’ innovation diffusion theory, is proposed as a methodological tool to examine the gradual, uneven, and often nonlinear adoption of digital innovations across logistics and supply chains. The paper identifies core philosophical principles shaping modern ILS: systemic integrity, rational resource management, customer-centric service personalization, ethical responsibility regarding data security, sustainability, and environmental impact, dynamic adaptability, and openness to innovation, change, and organizational learning. Challenges such as insufficient automation, lack of interoperability, data silos, fragmented platforms, and misalignment between business functions are addressed comprehensively. Drawing on international and Ukrainian scholarly sources, the article presents ILS as a hybrid technological-managerial construct that supports real-time decision-making, operational optimization, stakeholder collaboration, enhanced competitiveness, and customer satisfaction. ILS is positioned not only as a digital infrastructure but also as a strategic enabler of agility, efficiency, transparency, innovation, and sustainable business growth in complex and uncertain environments.
