The essence and peculiarities of project logistics

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to establish the essence of logistics and the features of the logistics system of projects. The study is based on the methods of analysis and synthesis of the general theory of systems. The existing terms "project logistics", "logistics system project", "project logistics" are analyzed. As a result of the study, the use of the term "project logistics" is justified, which means the management of material flows associated with the project within the framework of the corresponding logistics system. For example, the processes of creating and developing a material object involve a certain system of supply, distribution, production associated with the material flows. It has been determined that "project logistics" is a special type of project infrastructure that plays the role of support, without which the implementation of the project and obtaining the project product are impossible. That is, the logistics system of the project is not its product, but is the product of one of its stages, as the basis for obtaining the project product. The essence of logistics is determined by the stages of the project life cycle, the relationship between the project life cycle and the corresponding logistics system, and the products of each stage of the project life cycle of the logistics system are established. It is determined that project logistics can have a rather complex structure in terms of the composition of the components of its logistics system, which is determined by the specifics of the process of obtaining the project product. This forms a set of project logistics objects, which determine a set of alternative options for vehicles for servicing material flows for the project, which forms the basis for optimizing costs, terms and risks for the project. The use of various types of vehicles for transporting logistics objects of this megaproject is demonstrated on the example of a megaproject.
