The article substantiates the aspects of formation, utilization, and reproduction of the development potential of project management in virtual organizations within the IT sphere. The purpose of the article is to justify the essence and content of the category of development potential of project management in virtual IT organizations and to develop the conceptual foundations for its formation, improvement, and reproduction. The main objectives of the article include: systematization of scientific approaches to the development potential of project management in virtual IT organizations; justification of the mechanisms and tools for forming the project management potential of virtual IT organizations; development of a concept for innovative reproduction of this potential. Methods of analysis and synthesis, structural systematization, and gradient score evaluation of management functional processes were used to justify the formation of an environment for the sustainable reproduction of the development potential of project management in virtual IT organizations. Scientific approaches to the development potential of project management in virtual IT organizations are systematized, the essential category is substantiated, and the mechanisms and tools of this potential are detailed. A concept for the innovative reproduction of the project management potential of virtual IT organizations has been developed. The systematization of scientific approaches to the project management potential of virtual IT organizations is carried out based on the identification of criteria for a systemic, structural-functional relationship between the mechanisms and tools of potential formation. The main mechanisms and tools of potential formation include knowledge management, the digitalization of decision-making models, and the construction of a value-based development model. The development of the concept for the innovative reproduction of project management potential in virtual IT organizations should be carried out according to an algorithm for determining strategic development zones in the processes of forming, improving, and reproducing this potential. The key steps of this algorithm ensure a complete cycle of managerial action aimed at knowledge-based analytical coordination and reflexive strategizing in the context of a virtual organization.
