Abstract

The purpose of the study is to combine analytical materials on the financial and economic activities of food industry enterprises with the results of a critical review of existing positions on security activities at the micro level in order to develop theoretical principles for ensuring security in current conditions. To achieve the set goal, the following methods were used: induction and deduction, comparison and systematization - when studying the essential characteristics of the term "enterprise safety activities"; synthesis and analysis - to characterize the main parameters of the functioning of food industry enterprises in 2010-2023; morphological analysis - to establish the significance of the impact of a set of factors that determined the safety situation for food industry enterprises; graphic - for a visual presentation of theoretical and methodological material; abstract-logical - for theoretical generalizations and conclusions of the study. The results obtained provided the basis for the assertion that food industry enterprises, due to their focus on satisfying the primary need of each person for food, were in a better situation compared to other components of the Ukrainian industry in the period 2010-2023. Despite the above, COVID-19 and military aggression have become circumstances that have provoked a review of the principles of conducting security activities. It has been found that theoretical intelligence regarding security activities at the micro level is at the stage of rethinking the principles of implementation not in the mode of eliminating the threat, which causes significant losses and activates the procedure for liquidating the business, but in the constantly active participation of security entities in the process of managing the enterprise. It is substantiated that focusing exclusively on internal processes without seeing the causes and consequences of changes in the external environment limits the effectiveness of existing security systems. It is proven that security activities in the conditions of each enterprise must be flexible, that is, capable of transforming in accordance with the adjustment of the enterprise's development strategy and conditions determined by the influence of the widest possible list of factors. It is wrong to ignore the connections within the security hierarchy. Strengthening interaction with law enforcement agencies and developing corporate culture creates additional opportunities for the effective implementation of security activities.
