Principles of risk management in supply chain sustainability and security guidance

The article defines the essence and significance of applied risk management principles for increasing the stability and security of supply chains, covering the entire complex of logistics processes. It is shown that a systematic approach to risk analysis is a decisive factor, thanks to which the possibility of timely response to external and internal threats has been proven. The study substantiates that the formation of the security potential of supply chains requires close integration of management decisions with resource planning and risk monitoring at all stages of the movement of goods. Special attention is paid to the importance of preventive measures and the use of information technologies that allow for a better assessment of vulnerabilities and avoidance of critical failures in logistics. Based on the analysis of applied principles, it is established that flexibility and a comprehensive approach to risk management can significantly reduce the negative consequences of crisis situations. It is summarized that to achieve a high level of security development, it is important not only to form reserve supply routes or safety stocks, but also to constantly update security plans. Additionally, three principles of risk management are identified that have a direct impact on the formation of an effective security system. The direction of integrating risk management into everyday activities and long-term strategies of enterprises is proposed as a prerequisite for the effective functioning of logistics in conditions of uncertainty. The results obtained give grounds to argue that the implementation of the described measures contributes not only to maintaining security potential, but also to the development of stability and competitiveness in the market. The conclusions presented may be useful for supply chain management specialists, as well as for managers who are interested in improving the risk management system and ensuring the stable functioning of their production and sales processes.
