The relevance of the study is driven by two interrelated processes: globalization and the innovation revolution. The latter, known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0, is characterized by the widespread adoption of technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data. Automation of production and business processes, which is an integral part of this revolution, is having a significant impact on the economy by simplifying production cycles and increasing business efficiency. This, in turn, leads to increased efficiency, reduced production costs, and improved customer service. The inevitability of technology and innovation and increased competition between businesses pose new tasks and challenges for the trade sector. The purpose of the proposed study is to analyze the introduction of innovations and technologies in the trade sector of Ukraine, as well as to identify the prospects and shortcomings of this process.
To achieve this goal, the study used a set of scientific methods: abstraction, comparative analysis, and induction. Abstraction made it possible to identify the fundamental characteristics and main trends in the development of the trade sector under the influence of technologicalization. Comparative analysis made it possible to assess the effectiveness of various innovative tools and identify optimal solutions. The use of induction made it possible to summarize the data obtained on the basis of specific examples of innovation in trade.
The results of the study can be used as a theoretical basis for developing practical recommendations for Ukrainian enterprises seeking to optimize their activities through technological innovations.
The article emphasizes that the introduction of innovative technologies can significantly increase the efficiency of business processes, improve the quality of customer service and expand opportunities for the development of e-commerce. However, the article also describes the existing barriers to innovation in Ukraine, such as insufficient digital infrastructure, high initial investments, and lack of an appropriate legal framework.
The findings can also be used as a basis for further research in the field of innovation in various sectors of the economy.
