Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this article is to examine the process of digital transformation of Ukraine’s healthcare system, including the achievements and challenges of implementing modern information and communication technologies in the medical sector. A conceptual framework for the digital transformation of healthcare is proposed, encompassing the definition of healthcare digitalization, stages of digital transformation, models and approaches, as well as the impact of digitalization on business processes. The study analyzes key digital tools used in Ukraine, including electronic medical records, e-prescriptions, telemedicine consultations, and analytical platforms for managing patient data and healthcare facility resources. National initiatives such as the eHealth Ukraine program and the «Diia.Health» platform are considered separately, highlighting their impact on healthcare accessibility, treatment efficiency, and administrative process optimization. The study identifies the main barriers to digital transformation, including external and internal threats such as inadequate data protection and e-health legislation, cybersecurity risks and attacks on information systems, insufficient integration of IT systems into business processes, and the lack of strategic digitalization planning within healthcare institutions. Emphasis is placed on the importance of an integrated approach that combines improved quality of healthcare services, enhanced resource management, increased transparency of processes, and equal patient access to modern digital services. The findings of this study can be used to plan the further digitalization of Ukraine’s healthcare system, improve the management of medical resources, expand access to healthcare services in remote and rural areas, and develop strategies for integrating modern digital technologies into medical practice and healthcare management.
