Abstract

The rise in global uncertainty and the emergence of spatially distributed work create new requirements for effective team management in international organisations. Coordination among culturally diverse groups requires rethinking traditional management approaches and implementing adaptive interaction strategies. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate the effectiveness of empathetic management practices in maintaining the stability and efficiency of spatially distributed teams during crisis conditions. The methodological basis of the study is general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge, in particular, analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, systematisation of theoretical approaches, comparative analysis of concepts of personnel management, as well as structural and logical generalisation of scientific provisions on the relationship between management practices and indicators of team interaction in conditions of instability. Results. Modern approaches to adapting management decisions to employees' cultural and professional characteristics through the development of empathetic leadership are summarised, and the potential for integrating psycho-emotional monitoring and practices of individual and team support into management is assessed. The key mechanisms of managerial behaviour's influence on the stability of distributed team functioning have been identified through systematic assessment of employees' psycho-emotional states, correction of communication styles, collective decision-making, and the implementation of educational and training measures to develop team members' emotional competence. It has been established that taking into account team members' psycho-emotional state improves the quality of managerial decisions by fostering effective communication and contributing to the formation of psychologically stable, productive cooperation. Conclusions. Empathetic leadership practices, focused on understanding employees' experiences, are an important factor in maintaining effective interaction in spatially distributed teams during crises. Theoretical generalisations from the study can be used to develop approaches to personnel management in an environment of increased uncertainty, as well as to formulate corporate policies and training programs for managers.
