Abstract

The relevance of this study is determined by the transformation of the industrial sector under the influence of the innovative economy, digital modernization of production, and the increasing role of intellectual capital in shaping long-term competitive advantages. In conditions of unstable production dynamics and fluctuations in external market positions, there is a growing need for a systemic rethinking of the mechanisms ensuring the competitiveness of industrial enterprises.

The purpose of this article is to theoretically substantiate and develop a structural-functional model of a mechanism for strengthening the competitiveness of industrial enterprises in an innovative economy, taking into account processes of digital transformation, technological upgrading, and the increasing significance of intellectual resources.

The study employs systemic, structural-functional, and comparative-analytical approaches, as well as methods of statistical analysis of industrial indicators, generalization, and modeling. The dynamics of key industrial performance indicators over a five-year period were analyzed, structural imbalances and scientific-practical limitations of innovation-driven development were identified.

The results of the analysis revealed asynchrony between physical production volumes, value-based sales indicators, and the export share, confirming the presence of structural imbalances in the mechanisms for forming competitive advantages. The main challenges in implementing innovation-oriented mechanisms were identified, including limited funding for research and development (R&D), fragmented digital transformation, low levels of innovation commercialization, and institutional and personnel constraints. An integrated competitiveness management model was developed, ensuring the synchronization of strategic, technological, and financial decisions and providing for the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI) metrics.

In conclusion, it is noted that enhancing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises is possible through the systemic integration of innovative, digital, and managerial solutions into a unified strategic development framework. The necessity of transitioning from fragmented modernization to an integrated model of innovation management is substantiated.

Prospects for further research are associated with the development of quantitative methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed model, the formalization of indicators of innovation adaptability, and the study of sector-specific features of industrial digital transformation.
