Abstract

The article is concerned with defining the role, essence and key factors of competitiveness of transport enterprises in the international market. The aim of the study is to analyse the experience of improving the competitiveness of transport and logistics enterprises in the EU countries and the practical use of innovative BIREG and SENT systems for freight transport in Ukraine in international traffic. The research uses the method of comparative analysis to study the experience of EU countries in improving the competitiveness of transport and logistics enterprises, which allows identifying common features and differences in approaches to management, regulation and use of innovative systems. The method of system analysis was used to study the functioning of the BIREG and SENT systems, as well as their integration into the transport and logistics system of Ukraine. This allows us to assess the relationships between the system components and their impact on the efficiency of international freight transport. The case study method was used to analyse real-life examples of BIREG and SENT implementation in EU countries, which allows us to study their effectiveness and adaptability to the conditions of Ukraine. These methods provide a comprehensive approach to the development of practical recommendations: identifying measures for the sustainable development of the European transport system, which, through multimodal transport, decarbonisation and digitalisation, create prospects for Ukraine's integration into European transport networks. The development of intermodal transport and integration into the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) are identified as key opportunities for increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian companies. The experience of increasing the competitiveness of transport enterprises in the EU countries, in particular, the introduction of innovative systems BIREG (Hungary) and SENT (Poland) for monitoring and controlling international transport, is analysed. It is determined that the BIREG system is focused on the registration and monitoring of international transport in order to combat illegal operations and ensure transparency of logistics processes. SENT is a cargo monitoring system, especially for excisable goods, which allows tracking transportation routes and preventing fraud. Learning from European experience can improve the efficiency of Ukrainian transport companies.
