Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive scholarly examination of the transformation of enterprise business models within the framework of development management in the digital economy. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical foundations and identify the practical vectors of business model modernization driven by the diffusion of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data analytics, automation, and platform-based solutions, which fundamentally reshape the architecture of business processes. The methodological basis of the research encompasses system and comparative analysis of academic literature, structural – logical synthesis of prevailing conceptual approaches to digital transformation, as well as analytical methods for assessing the influence of digitalization on the strategic development trajectories of enterprises. The findings reveal the key tendencies of the digital economy that necessitate the reconfiguration of business models: the growing centrality of data as a strategic resource, the expansion of customer-centric digital services, the emergence of digital ecosystems, and the deepening integration of automated and intelligent technologies into operational activities. At the same time, it outlines substantial opportunities enabled by digitalization, such as enhanced operational efficiency, optimization of decision-making processes, personalization of customer engagement, the development of new value propositions, and the formation of long-term competitive advantages. The conclusions justify the adoption of a conceptual model of business model transformation that integrates technological innovation, managerial flexibility, adaptive restructuring of business processes, and strategic orientation toward sustainable development in a digitally driven environment. The results may serve as a methodological foundation for enterprises seeking to design contemporary development strategies and reinforce their competitive positions in the evolving digital economy.
